Located just south of Littleton in Middlesex County, Boxborough is a town of nearly 5,000 residents.
Often spelled “Boxboro” on highway signage, Boxborough is most well-known for its annual Fifer’s Day celebration, held in June at Flerra Meadows. Fifer’s Day remembers and honors Luther Blanchard, the fifer who led the minutemen to the Battle of Concord in 1775. At the North Bridge, they engaged the British army, forcing the redcoats’ retreat. Blanchard was wounded in the fight, and again at the Battle of Bunker Hill. He died in September 1775, apparently of his battle wounds. It’s believed that he is buried in Boxborough, though it is not known exactly where. Fifer’s Day is commemorated with a road race, a parade, and other festivities.
They may not know precisely where Blanchard’s grave is, but at Colonial Pest Control, we know right where the Boxborough critters are. And like Blanchard’s minutemen, we’ll fight them off until none remain.
