Originally known as “South Street Crossing,” Roslindale picked up its name from John Pierce, a local, who said that the area reminded him of Roslin, Scotland. “Rozzie,” as it is affectionately known by locals, has very ethnically diverse neighborhoods and a resurging local shopping district, after decades of empty storefronts and vandalism.
